Watch: Rain showers stop traffic in Tunbridge Wells

This was the scene in Tunbridge Wells this afternoon [Thursday] as a flash rain shower brought traffic to a halt in Warwick Park.

But heavy showers that gripped Tunbridge Wells and Tonbridge this afternoon are set to fade as quickly as they came.

Whilst the Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for the South East between 12pm and 7pm today [July 5], they predict that ‘residual thundery showers this evening will soon gradually die away’, and will not reappear tomorrow.

The warm weather is set to continue, however, with peak temperatures of 25°C today across Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells rising to highs of 27°C  tomorrow. Pollen counts will remain high over the next 24 hours and weather-watchers can expect sunny intervals with a much drier, largely overcast day tomorrow [Friday 6].

Southeastern rail has reported train delays through Tunbridge Wells.

This video was taken at around 3pm outside the Grub & Liquor.
